“It is only Death and Black metal that you offer! Aren’t there anything else apart that?” - the comment became too obvious and frequent to ignore it. Well, finally, here you go! It is time to witness some real metal with power, as French NIGHTMARE are going to visit DEVILSTONE Open Air. What is your reaction? You do not know them? You could only be forgiven, if you belonged to the younger generation that was still listening to lullabies, when these le France guys were rocking across the Europe.

NIGHTMARE was formed in 1979 and was one of the first French bands to receive wider recognition and audience. During their career, they have played over 100 gigs with such formations as U.D.O., DEF LEPPARD, BLIND GUARDIAN and countless others. However, having released two successful albums, the band decided to split-up in 1987. But only for the reason to return back 12 years later! They rose with revived power, new ideas and stronger force. Recent music of this quintet proves that this “musical retirement” was both – useful and beneficial.

After their return, NIGHTMARE has already released five full-length albums. Their furious, melodic, but not too sweet, Power metal makes quite a few eyebrows to rise. Powerful riffs, well-built rhythmic parts and technical, but not overloaded, solos make NIGHTMARE an interesting band. Vocals of Joe Amore are intense and, atypically, low, so it does not remind casual Power-metal falsetto and can have compulsive effects on the listener. Last year NIGHTMARE witnessed 30-year anniversary and it was marked by the record deal with „AFM Records“.

The most important thing is that NIGHTMARE on stage looks ten times better, more entertaining and charming than while listening to their records. Facts? This year, the band has been invited to perform at least at 10 most well-known summer festivals in Europe. This shows that NIGHTMARE is not only well known, recognised and welcomed band, but also that these French lads single-handedly share their force of Power metal with the metal-thirsty audience...
