HELEVORN

What firstly comes to your mind when you hear the word “Majorca”? Heat, Sun, beach, holidays? Most likely, yes, but if you are a fan of the dark and heavy music, this word might suggest HELEVORN. To those, who have not heard of the name – we introduce you this perspective and yet quite unknown band from the resort island.

Although roots of HELEVORN go as deep as 1999, they still cannot brag about big achievements outside the Spanish borders. However, this is caused not by incompetence or laziness, but rather by the aim to preserve and mature the music. This is proved by two magnificent albums: positively rated debut “Fragments” and freshly baked opus “Forthcoming Displeasures”.

Band's potential can be demonstrated by the fact that they have toured with the mighty Finns SWALLOW THE SUN during their Spanish tour. In 2006, the band was invited to join the tribute album to KATATONIA, what reflects the frame and the influence of HELEVORN. Melodies, full of mourning and coldness, subtle voice of Josep Brunet, emotional guitars and bewitching spirit of the music – these features are of high quality and comparable with the grand bands as PARADISE LOST. Maybe the star of HELEVORN is not bright yet, but we are sure they will soon become one of the most significant bands of the lyrical Doom metal, while their performance will melt any frozen heart...
