SCYTHIAN [U.K.]
Some bands hate to be stylistically framed by fans and/or music experts, while, on the other hand, the latter get headaches, when they have to describe such formations. For example, let's define the style of international mob SCYTHIAN. Impossible! One can dub them as death, thrash or even Black metal and he/she will be right. However, we are sure about the following: this is most savage, traditionally-oriented and war-themed metal.
Crew, consisting of four members of Finnish, Polish, Greek and British origins that resides in London, make it clear: BATHORY and SODOM are the bands that made biggest influence upon the band and, up to this point, remain ideal examples of how metal should be played. Foundational ideas of the metal music and the old traditions are seen through the only prism: war and battle. These are cornerstones of the SCYTHIAN ideas.
The band was assembled five years ago and bases their music upon sound, filth and energy of the old-good Thrash metal. Nevertheless, they entangle some heaviness and aggression of Death metal, while spiritual basis is drawn from the blackest abyss. Combination of those elements infuses the songs with sacral feeling of warfare.
They stand for the old Gods. Old-school is imbued in their blood. In the debut album “To Those Who Stand Against Us...”, which was released last year, SCYTHIAN refuses to synthesize their sound and proclaims: prepare for total annihilation!
