Last year DEVILSTONE Open Air witnessed the show of the famous Dutch blasphemers SINISTER. If you think the latter scene is held only by the shoulders of the old titans, as SINISTER or ASPHYX, you are completely wrong! Holland has enough fresh flesh, which keeps the scene going. DEVIOUS – a band of younger generation, which self-sufficiently leads the death-scene forward.

If we have mentioned the age of the band, it is also worth mentioning that DEVIOUS is rather atypical band for the current time. Of course, one will find the features of the old-school, some brutal sounds and a healthy dose of hellishly low grunts (performed by ex-ALTAR terror-throat). On the other hand, this quintet entangles motives that do not belong to death metal. They have released three albums. The first two were diluted by the spirit and sound of thrash metal, while the latest one encompasses everything that can be described as the “Death Metal”: haunting melodies, top-notch performance, heavy guitar lines and morbid spirituality.

Although DEVIOUS can be dubbed as a relatively young band, they are experiencing the most mature period: tightly wound compositions and passionate playing has brought frequent shows and wide recognition. It would be easier to name those bands that have not shared the stage with the DEVIOUS. If one gazes into the eyes of death, do it as DEVIOUS does.
