Unexpected changes in the DEVILSTONE Open Air [JUNE 21, 2010] Unpleasant troubles due to the festival performers have heavily disturbed and struck the whole organization, while it is merely a single month that has left before the event. The festival headliners DEICIDE unfortunately shall not be present. Likewise ROTTING CHRIST shall not be able to come as well, which means the festival pre-party is cancelled at all.
The booking agency “Massive Music”, responsible for the DEICIDE performances in Europe, has suddenly announced to have terminated the cooperation with the band DEICIDE, and all deals with European organizers at the same time. This means that DEICIDE shall not continue its summer tour throughout Europe, and the DEVILSTONE Open Air is not an exception.
We are deeply shocked by “Massive Music” decision to quit all contracts concerning DEICIDE concerts in Europe. The worst was to have only a month left before the festival date, which made it hardly possible to make a deal with the band directly. All attempts were fruitless to realize what has been promised for the festival audience, partners and colleagues. To get Americans to Europe the last minute is so extremely expensive and hardly manageable, plus, the band itself is no longer interested in such single offers. In this situation we can only express our sincere apologies.
A rather short period of time has challenged to find analogous shift for DEICIDE that would be available on the set date. Luckily, Swedish Death metal band GRAVE agreed to postpone their planned holidays and come to replace DEICIDE. This is one of the most matured Swedish death metal bands, formed in 1986, which has developed its unique sound and style. They have released a number of albums, played many concerts throughout Europe and America and are welcome by the majority of death metal fans. GRAVE shall be present in the DEVILSTONE Open Air on July 17 with an extended program, combining their older creation as well as the recent.
Unfortunately, the festival Pre-Party on July 4 had to be cancelled, as it was even harder to find a shift for ROTTING CHRIST in a couple of weeks. Force Majeure has made the Greeks to cancel their summer tour. The leader of the band experienced an accident which caused a broken leg. Best wishes to Sakis to get well soon and sincere apologies to all those, who have been waiting for the DEVILSTONE Pre-Party: the audience, partners, colleagues and all the bands – CRYPTIC TALES, THE JASSER ARAFATS, LASSIE THE CAT, SAPLES. We hope to witness your presence in our future concerts or festivals.
However, despite all misunderstandings that have occurred at the same time, the festival shall take place by any means to an end and will be arranged professionally.
Thank you for your understanding.
