The Pearl of Iceland / ICELAND
The Icelandic phenomenon is unique and full of surprises. While ones root for Iceland’s standoffish football team, others adore BJORK or take delight in SIGUR ROSS. But this country also has SÓLSTAFIR: they are one-of-a-kind and possibly the most popular rock band in Reykjavik. Their compositions are a separate world without boundaries, conveyed though a Northern prism and retaining the true spirit of their homeland of volcanoes and stone.
SÓLSTAFIR state that they are inspired by oceanic storms, volcanic magma, and salty seas. That’s why frigid, melancholic sounds and the atmospheric space full of the beauty of nature create a perfect harmony in their music. Fresh gusts of psychedelic rock and motives of Americana are featured more and more lately; however, the typical Icelandic vibe is always there.
SÓLSTAFIR’s new album Berdreyminn will premiere on Devilstone’s stage.
